Friday Night Accomplishments

I had to cut the 2.5 yards worth of strips for the remaining 4 types of blocks. It took approximately 3 hours complete.

I still need to sub-cut the strips, maybe later tonight. Right now I'm at dinner @ the in-laws.

Back from Hiatus...

I took a 2 year break from this blog to try and get my life figured out, or at least have some direction.

I learned a lot about myself during that time, I feel better about my life now, and where it is headed, so I'm back!!

I'm currently working on a surprise quilt for some family members.

This is the Asteria quilt, and here is the Craftsy class for it.

I'm actually taking a class for it in a local quilt shop, Thimble Towne in Visalia.
I wanted to do a different color way, so I went with greens (all bought at Joanns).
  • {If you want the info about these green fabrics so you can get them too, leave a comment and I will email you the pics I took of their info & barcodes.}

Here's some in-progress...

 Gotta LOVE WonderClips!
I found a 100-pack of Wonderclips on Amazon for $10.99! If you have Amazon Prime, you also get free 2-day shipping.

Here's what I've accomplished so far.

Here's what I'll be trying to accomplish tonight during CrazyMomQuilts's Finish it up Friday.
I need to cut all the strips required for the remaining 4 blocks. Then I need to sub-cut.

Wish me luck!
I've got 3 kids...lol

Accepting Donations in lieu of presents!!

My name is Leini and I'm turning 24 this year. I've decided it is time for me to begin to make a positive impact on this World.
So, I'll be accepting financial donations to this fundraiser instead of presents for my birthday & Christmas this year!

I've been feeling like God has been pulling me in this direction for the last 6 months, and I finally decided to listen.

I've been feeling out of touch with the world lately. Kind of like I'm floating in a dream. I'm hoping this fundraising goal with help me get grounded and push me to strive to get things done so I can take the proceeds from them to donate to this as well.

You can either follow the link below, or use the widget app to the right of this post to donate!

Please check out my fundraiser!

Updates in response to comments:

After I finish a few client quilts, I'm definitely planning on making several quilts to raffle off. All of the proceeds will be getting directly donated into this fundraiser as well.

I'm also planning on making an Ian Somerhalder Foundation themed wall quilt to hopefully eventually be able to send to them.

Tags for fellow quilter...

A fellow quilter on Quilting Board put out a request on the forum. She was asking for any clothing labels that have been removed for a project she's working on.

Here's what I collected in just over 4 hours!!

102!!

Gentry the Gargoyle

Gentry the Gargoyle, made using the Otto the Ogre pattern by NimblePhish Patterns.

This was my 1st attempt at this pattern. His arms, legs, and head are safety jointed,
and he has blue safety eyes.

Back into Embroidery...

Lately I've been reading up on alot of embroidery & I LOVE the look of it!!

I recently misplaced my quilt labeling pen...So I've taken up a needle & embroidering floss to make up for it...

What are your opinions about either written quilt labels, embroidered ones, or both?
