An update accumulated over the last few days...

I have finally sewn the borders onto Nato's Halloween 2nd anniversary quilt.

I have also chosen a backing for Anonymous II, basted it with curved safety pins, and started hand quilting it.

It is going to take forever, but it will be worth it.

Getting work done...

Day before yesterday I finished tying Hannah & Jason's quilt, now all that is left is to sew the border.

Yesterday I finished piecing Nato's quilt top. All that is left is to add the borders.

Today's Accomplishments!!

Today was Nato's day off, and he helped me with the kids.

So, I was able to finish sewing the 4-patch blocks for Nato's quilt & have started piecing the top.

I think it will go together really fast now.

Also, we FINALLY got Hannah & Jason's quilt basted w/ curved safety pins. Hand-tying starts tomorrow.

Spoils from yesterday's excursion...

I got a few different horse fabrics to supplement the ones I already had, to make a quilt to sell.
I also got quite a bit of food fabric to make another quilt to sell.
I got a few fabrics for the quilts I am making Kristin's 4 grandkids she takes care of.

I got a yard each of the 2 main fabrics in Nato's Halloween quilt: (http://modernroots.com/p/quilting-natos-2nd-anniversary-gift)
and a 1/4 yard of each of the border fabrics.

I got a blue remnant for the Spiderman quilt, an orange remnant to supplement w/ the rest of Nato's fabrics, and 2 sage green remnants to supplement the quilt I'm making for my mom's friend Rod.

Oh, and we also picked up a King-sized sheet for Hannah & Jason's quilt...if it ends up STILL being too small (which it shouldn't be) then I am just going to sew some of the queen sized sheet onto it.

We got the batting, BUUUUUUT......

The sheet we had picked out for the quilt back is queen sized. It needs to be king-sized.

Earlier today, I received the portion of money my brother owed me for Hannah & Jason's quilt, so my mother-in-law is going to take me to JoAnn's tomorrow to pick up the rest of the fabric I need for my anniversary quilt to Nato.

This Halloween will be our 2nd wedding anniversary.

Just a quick little post...

If anyone wants to place an order for any quilts to be finished in time for Christmas, August 31st is the last day to order!!

Hannah & Jason's quilt...

As it turns out, I didn't have a big enough piece of hi-loft batting for their quilt, or even enough small pieces to piece together to make a big enough piece...lol

So, later, or possibly tomorrow.

I have started plans on my anniversary present for Nato. An approx. 7 1/2' x 7 1/2' quilt that is done in all Halloween fabrics and orange and black as complementary colors.

FINALLY DONE!! Well, sort of...

I FINALLY finished Hannah & Jason's quilt top!!Later today, Nato & I will be laying it out with the quilt back, batting, and quilt top to baste it with safety pins.

Then I will start hand-tying it. This is the plan for how it will be tied at every point & center; except the outermost edges, as they will be covered by the binding..

They're here....They're HERE!!

A week or two ago, I went to http://www.quiltsforkids.org/ and requested 4 quilt kits.

They will send you kits, and all you have to provide is 1/8"-1/4" thick batting & return shipping.

I am already almost done w/ my 1st quilt top, and it is looking awesome...I will post pics later.

As of yet...

I have yet to begin actually working on anything...I just finished documentation for yesterday's work.

Hannah & Jason's quilt as of yesterday!
I am making this quilt to help out a woman I met recently who takes care of her 4 grandchildren.
This quilt in particular is for her 6-month-old granddaughter.

Okay, so here goes...

I got the 3rd row on Hannah & Jason's quilt re-pinned & sewn.

I will be attaching row 4 to the top tomorrow, and I will be HOPEFULLY finishing the rag quilt for the 6-month old.

Tomorrow morning, I am going to have Nato starch the fabric I need for the 3 girl quilts. It will be MUCH easier to get accurate measurements & therefore squares, when the fabric is stiffer.

Nato has been wanting to pull the rows of Michelle's quilt back apart & pin them to get them more accurate, so that's what he's doing tomorrow, amongst other things.

Well, I'll let you know how it goes...!!

Well, ...........

I got another row pinned on Hannah's, went to go sew it and realized there was a large gap on one side, so I have to unpin & re-pin today...then sew.

I'm also wanting to get a rag quilt done today.
